WALLA WALLA—Yesterday, the Walla Walla University Board of Trustees unanimously elected Dr. Alex Bryan, to become Walla Walla University’s 24th president.
You may recall, Walla Walla attempted to name Bryan as president twelve years ago. His name was withdrawn as president after it became known that he was deeply invested in the emergent movement and mystical spirituality.
Bryan is one of the founders of the One Project, and was mentored by Leonard Sweet and Brian Mclaren, two of the guiding thinkers of progressive mystical experience over the last 12-15 years.
Time will tell if he is still animated by these teachings and practices. My guess is he is.
