If you are not familiar with Dr. Eric Walsh, where have you been for the last five years? Dr. Walsh is a graduate of Oakwood University, the University of Miami School of Medicine, and Loma Linda University School of Public Health. He has taught at the LLU School of Public Health and at the University of California, Irvine.
Walsh was serving as the Director of Public Health for the City of Pasadena, California, when he ran afoul of the gay mob. He was invited to give the commencement address at Pasadena City College in 2014. But because the previous invitee was dis-invited because of a scandal involving video of homosexual sex posted to the Internet, gay activists watched all Dr. Walsh’s sermons that had been posted to the Internet, and found where he had condemned homosexual behavior—in a sermon. Despite the fact that Walsh’s record as Pasadena Public Health Director included opening the Michael Antonovich Dental Clinic for HIV-positive patients—and there was no evidence whatsoever that Walsh ever discriminated against gay persons in his professional capacity—the mob demanded the city fire him. Pasadena first suspended him, then fired him.
Walsh was then hired by a rural public health district in Georgia, but un-hired after the officials there heard about the situation in Pasadena. Dr. Walsh settled with Pasadena, then sued Georgia, and later settled with them, but not until after they had demanded that he produce his sermon notes during the discovery process.
The saddest part of the whole Walsh saga was that he was disgracefully abandoned by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Southern California Conference spokesperson Betty Cooney stated that Walsh did not represent the Church, despite the fact that he was an associate pastor at the Altadena SDA Church and was being paid a stipend by that conference for his work. Cooney went so far as to say that the SDA Church doesn’t discriminate against groups of people:
“Cooney said the Seventh-day Adventist Church does not discriminate against groups of people based on sexual orientation, race or other factors.”
Which is misleading, if not outright false, because the SDA Church, in adherence to a very clear biblical prohibition, does not ordain women to gospel ministry. And even the notoriously rebellious and out-of-policy Southeastern California Conference probably—I say hopefully—would not employ an openly homosexual pastor. We certainly do discriminate, and I pray that we always will.
The SDA Church also abandoned Walsh because he concluded, as I also have, that Scripture clearly teaches that Islam is the spawn of Satan himself. Certainly, many of its adherents strive every day to prove that.
Below is one of Dr. Walsh’s recent sermons, “Marking the Mind.” Dr. Walsh points out that the frontal lobe of the human brain is the seat of reason, character, and higher decision-making. It must be guarded carefully in order that we retain the capacity to make a decision for righteousness.
Among other threats to the frontal lobe is the new extra-strength Marijuana being grown and sold in jurisdictions where pot has been legalized. This new weed has many times the concentration of active ingredient (THC) that older strains contained. He predicts that in 10 to 15 years, we will see a wave of psychotic mental illness passing through the United States because of the super-strong pot.
