GT Ng, General Conference Secretary announced his retirement a couple weeks ago. Juan Rafael Prestol-Puesán, treasurer of the General Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church (GC) since 2015, also announced his retirement , effective August 1, 2021.
Both men were replaced at the Spring Council Meeting today, a meeting that was held online for members of the GC Executive Committee.
GC Secretary
Out of several names that were suggested for this position, the nominating committee chose Erton Kohler, the previous South American Division President. The motion to elect (Item 301) was voted on at 8:26 AM this morning.
A total of 213 votes were cast.
Yes votes — 197
No votes — 16
The vote passed, Erton Kohler will take the place of GT Ng as the GC Secretary.
GC Treasurer
The nominating committee selected Paul Douglas to replace Juan Prestol as the GC Treasurer. Paul is the past director of the General Conference Auditing System (GCAS).
After Paul was introduced by Ted Wilson, there was a prayer by Doug Batchelor, and then the voting was open.
A total of 214 votes were cast.

No votes — 10
The motion passed. Paul Douglas will replace Juan Prestol as the General Conference Treasurer on August 1.

On another note, Hensley Mooroven, asked Executive Committee members two questions:
If the Annual Council Meeting in October were held in person at the GC, how many would attend? 165 said they would come to the Annual Council in person if they could.
How many of you are willing to attend the 2022 GC Session in St. Louis? 169 are willing to go to St louis in person.
