After a long day and two hours of discussion on this important issue, the UCC ExCom considered the calls from constituent churches for a special constituency meeting regarding the revamped commissioned ministers policy. Then they voted. Yesterday afternoon, the UCC ExCom moved and voted to rescind the policy that has troubled many throughout their Conference and beyond.
To our brothers and sisters in Eastern Washington, North Idaho, and Northeastern Oregon, your voices were heard. Your voices made a difference. May God bless our people and leaders in the Upper Columbia Conference, and may God re-instill a love for truth in Adventists worldwide. And may this situation remind each of us that deviating from the expressed will of the world church in these trying times is not wise and not without repercussions. God bless the Adventist grassroots around the world as you stand up for the causes of truth and the way of righteousness.
In the meantime, stay tuned for a news release from UCC's department of communication.
