Females are now doing better than males at all levels of education, from Kindergarten to graduate school. For me, the most surprising statistic was not that boys don’t take advanced placement/honors courses in art and music in the same numbers girls, but that even in the traditionally male field of math, girls still outnumber men 100 to 82. Makes me wonder what the AP/Honors ratio is in physics; surely boys are still ahead in that discipline, if only that one?
Men are also way over-represented in autism, ADHD, drug abuse, suicide, crime, and incarceration. We covered the plight of men in today’s America here. Suffice it to say that being a male in today’s America is no picnic. It is time to stop pretending that girls in America are an oppressed, outraged “minority,” and start worrying about what is happening to the male sex.
