PORTLAND, Ore. — The highly woke (and often weird) state of Oregon still has an indoor mask mandate, and now the state is working to make that rule permanent. According to KATU, Seventh-day Adventists are ‘participating’ in the discussion to make masking a permanent pastime in in Oregon. Here `tis:
Community stakeholders, including those from the hospitality and faith sectors, joined in the meeting. People from the Seventh Day Adventists Church, the High Desert Museum, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and McMenamins were a part of the conversation.
While the KATU article doesn’t say if our Adventist fellow members are pro-permanent-mask-protocol or against it, the odds are that they are gung-ho for it. The Oregon Conference, under the direction of mostly woke Dan Linrud, has been pro lockdown and pro vaccine & mask, even requiring speakers in their churches to wear masks, according to a February 10, 2021 ‘guideline.’
“FACE COVERINGS ARE REQUIRED for Oregon, including speakers.”
Inquiries about the KATU news article prompted the Oregon Conference to place a statement addressing the issue on their website. The statement is full of vague platitudes and doesn’t answer the question that thousands of Seventh-day Adventists are now asking: Is the Oregon Conference supporting this permanent mask mandate? Or not?
To our faithful Seventh-day Adventist members in Oregon and Washington, feel free to provide your perspective and insights in the comment section below.
Walk with the King, and be a blessing!

Tidbit: Linrud was hired by the Manitoba-Saskatchewan Conference in Canada in the late 1980’s. Dan Jackson (of hooey fame) was also pastor and eventually president of the Manitoba-Saskatchewan Conference.
