As reported by Ron Carlson, conference president of the Kansas-Nebraska Conference, in his weekly e-newsletter, The Cutting Edge dated August 5, 2022:
‘Pastor’ Bennet Granted Ordination to Gospel Ministry
‘Pastor’ Kessia Reyne Bennet (College View associate) was granted her ordination certificate this past Sabbath. Commissioned in August 2021, the Conference Executive Committee voted to confer ordination upon Pastor Kessia Reyne and other women pastors within our Conference who meet the qualifications in the future. This followed the vote of the Mid-America Union constituents in September 2021 authorizing ordination to the gospel ministry without regard to gender within our Union."
The certificate of ordination was presented to Kessia Reyne Bennet by Ron Carlson on July 30, 2022 in the College View church.
The presentation starts at the 40 min mark: VIDEO
Bennet is now lead pastor of the Pleasant Valley church in Happy Valley, Oregon.
According to Oregon Conference president Dan Linrud, “Pastor Kessia Reyne Bennett is the first woman to serve as lead pastor in a multi-pastoral staff church in our Conference."
