Diamond Garcia grew up in Waipahu, Hawaii and now lives in Kapolei. At age 25, Diamond became one of the youngest Hawaiian State Representatives in history, winning the 2022 State Representative seat in House District 42. Diamond is a Seventh-day Adventist Christian.
On March 8, Diamond sponsored HB108. This bill urges the Department of Education to require all public schools and charter schools that serve meals to offer plant-based meal options prioritizing ingredients from locally sourced and locally farmed products. It is currently in committee.
Also in March, Diamond sponsored HB46. This resolution urges the Governor of Hawaii to deploy 500 members of the Hawaii National Guard to assist the Texas National Guard in managing the United States-Mexico border. The resolution discusses the significant increase in attempted illegal entries into the U.S. since the COVID-19 pandemic, with Border Patrol reporting a record high in encounters in December 2023. It acknowledges that migrants are not only from Mexico but also from other Central American countries. It correctly links the border issue to the illegal drug problem in the U.S., including the influx of fentanyl. The resolution highlights that fourteen other U.S. states have sent National Guard members to the border to assist Texas. By transmitting this resolution to relevant authorities, the intention is to persuade the Governor of Hawaii to join these states, arguing it's in Hawaii's best interest to prevent undocumented migrants and illegal drug entry into the U.S.
Diamond takes his Adventist Christian faith seriously, applying biblical principles to his many tasks as Minority Floor Leader in the Hawaii State House.
I was honored to be part of the Operation Iceberg team with Diamond, as we exposed Emerging church mysticism that was infiltrating the Seventh-day Adventist church through the One Project and liberal Adventist schools & leaders.
