Last Sabbath, the Sligo Seventh-day Adventist Church violated the will of the world church again by ordaining another woman.
Cheryl Bridges was ordained at 4PM. Sligo live-streamed the service.
Mrs. Bridges often comments on social issues on social media:
Vaccinations work! People of color are dying from Covid at a rate 3 times higher than whites, yet getting vaccinated at much lower levels. I know there have been egregious disparities in our healthcare system for people of color.
We have no disagreement with women ministering, indeed we believe that each believer is called to minister (Hebrews 6:10). But each in their own sphere.
We do disagree with liberal Adventism’s obsession with making women elders and shepherds of the church flock. Why? Because the Bible is clear that leadership is male. The biblical qualifications for elders and pastors preclude most men and all women (1 Timothy 2:12—13; Deuteronomy 22:5; Titus 2:1—15; 1 Cor 11:3; Titus 1:5—9; 1 Timothy 3:1—6; Acts 20:28; Colossians 3:18).
Do it God’s way, and the Church will be blessed.
Do it according to human wisdom and culture, and harm will result.

“Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. Yet she will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with self-control” (1 Timothy 2:11—15).
