Something good that is emerging from the catastrophic American failure in Afghanistan is how Christians are joining together to help Christians stranded in that Muslim theocracy. Glenn Beck has been working with an organization called the Nazarene Fund, which has raised $28 million to help airlift Christians out of Afghanistan and re-settle them elsewhere. They have pulled out 5,100 Christian Afghans.
“The State Department has blocked us every step of the way. The State Department and the White House have been the biggest problem. Everyone else, everyone else, has been working together, putting aside differences and trying to get these people to safety. The State Department and the White House have blocked us every single step of the way.”
“In fact, an ambassador was called in Macedonia last night and told not to accept any of these people, as we were trying to get them off of the tarmac here to keep the airport flowing and getting these Christians out,” said Beck.
“We haven’t really been able to move anybody for about 12 hours. Our mission is now changing greatly. We have sent people into even greater danger to try to smuggle these Christians out, who are marked not just for death but to be set on fire alive because they are converted Christians. . . . “
“We’re going someplace else to open up two other countries, and I don’t even want to say who they are, because I’m afraid our state department will call them and threaten them. But we’re going to move these people into new homes, and they’re going to be a blessing to some country. . . . “
Tucker Carlson: So Islamic countries, Muslim countries, are more eager to accept Christians from Afghanistan than our State Department, which really tells you a lot.
“This country that I’m in, I begged them last night to let me tell the world who they are. They [voice breaking] they have more compassion for these Christians than our American government, and it is insulting, embarrassing, and wrong. What our government is doing now I believe is out-and-out evil.”
As I’ve noted before, we are learning that the American bureaucracy, the permanent government, the three-letter agencies, are bent to the Left. They were taken over by the radical Left on its “long march through the institutions.”
The first indication that the bureaucracies were no longer ideologically neutral was when IRS supervisor Lois Lerner slow-walked conservative 501c(4) applications to prevent conservative grassroots groups from playing a role in the 2012 election.
We soon learned that the IRS abuse was not an isolated case. The FBI, DOJ and CIA conspired to spy on and monitor the Trump campaign, the Trump transition, and the Trump presidency. This was a scandal worse than Watergate, worse than any political scandal in American history, yet the spying received little coverage from mainstream media, which accepted at face value the preposterous lies about “Russian collusion” that were the pretext for the surveillance.
The horrific persecution of the January 6 capitol protestors has been another clue that the FBI and DOJ have become tools of the radical Left.
This Glenn Beck story is interesting because it shows that the State Department is ideologically bent: it hates Christians. It loves to resettle Muslims into the USA, but not Christians. Of course, this does not mean that every person who works for the State Department is anti-Christian; I’m certain that many are fine people. State Department employees at the Dallas office processed my sister’s passport application in one day, because she needed it to get a driver’s license and help take care of my father and meet other family needs. Rather, it means that the top bureaucrats have a certain ideology, and those top and mid-level people determine the department’s internal culture, which clearly is not friendly toward Christians.
Another problem is that the federal agencies are no longer answerable to congressional supervision. Elected representatives come and go, but the bureaucrats stay forever. The CIA is embedded within the State Department; the CIA station chiefs for each country are based at that country’s U.S. embassy, and agents often operate out of embassies and consulates. State and CIA have a very close working relationship. The implication of that fact for effective congressional oversight should be obvious, but I’ll spell it out: The deep states spies on everyone, and they misuse illegally gotten information to frustrate any attempts by congress to rein them in or even meaningfully supervise them.
This corruption of the institutions of government is relevant to the Covid-19 and vaccination debate. As we observe the systematic ideological corruption of the three letter agencies, is it really so hard to believe that the NIH, CDC and FDA engaged in a top-down conspiracy to exaggerate the dangers of the disease—incentivized over-reporting of cases, the disappearance of seasonal flu—to discourage early treatment, to hamper and even outlaw the re-purposing of older drugs for Covid-19 treatment, to rush through an inadequately tested vaccine, to minimize and lie about adverse vaccine events, to tolerate a vastly higher—orders of magnitude—number of vaccine deaths and injuries than had ever been tolerated in the history of vaccines, to force people to take a vaccine that is far more dangerous than any vaccine in human history and that loses its effectiveness in less than six months?
If you’ve been closely watching how the three-letter agencies have been acting over the last few years, you should have no trouble believing that the NIH, CDC and FDA are doing what they are doing.
