Jonathan Cherne and Alan Reinach won their trial against LA County for firing a Physician Assistant because she was not vaccinated due to her sincerely held religious beliefs. The Court found she had a sincere religious objection to the vaccines, and ordered her to be reinstated to her position, plus $364,645 in economic damages, and $546,967 in emotional distress, for a total of $911,612!
This suit was funded by the Church State Council of PUC.
All the momentum regarding Covid vaccines has shifted measurably in the last 16-months. The courts now favor those who were coerced and violated by autocratic states and institutions. Military personnel who were fired for declining the Covid jabb have been reinstated with full back pay, and numerous other institutions have been forced to retroactively honor religious objections to the jabb.
Oops
Courts and governments alike now recognize that it was wrong to force people into the Covid jab, especially punishing them that declined. Perhaps someday, even the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists will admit that their naive support for unconstitutional vaccine mandates was not a good thing to do. They should also take down their controversial 2015 Vaccine statement and seek a neutral approach on the matter.
I mean, we can hope, right?
