Thierry Breton, the European Union commissioner for internal market and services, today sent a letter to Elon Musk and X/Twitter president Linda Yaccarino attempting to intimidate Musk, prior to a planned interview with President Donald J. Trump this evening.
The letter warns Musk that X is already under investigation for violations of the “Digital Services Act,” the EU’s censorship vehicle (enacted at the behest of the American CIA and other deep state elements) and that the interview with Trump could “spillover” into the EU:
“As the relevant content is accessible to EU users, and being amplified also in our jurisdiction, we cannot exclude potential spillovers in the EU. Therefore, we are monitoring the potential risks in the EU associated with the dissemination of content that may incite violence, hate and racism in conjunction with major political—or societal—events around the world, including debates and interviews in the context of elections.”
In other words, Breton and the EU are claiming that the EU’s Digital Services Act gives it the right to control how Musk and X/Twitter cover the American presidential election.
X president Linda Yaccarino stated,
“This is an unprecedented attempt to stretch a law intended to apply in Europe to political activities in the United States. It also patronizes European citizens, suggesting they are incapable of listening to a conversation and drawing their own conclusions.”
We could just laugh this off as something that we defeated in 1776, except that the EU is being egged on by the U.S. deep state. Through such CIA cut-outs as “Newsguard,” you, the American taxpayer, are actually paying for the EU to attempt to censor American politics and try to shut down an interview with a United States presidential candidate.
According to Mike Benz, the world’s leading expert on this topic who was interviewed today by Natalie Winters:
There is a very nasty censorship gargoyle firm known as Newsguard whose modus operandi is to bankrupt politically disfavored news sites, targeting basically anyone who, any news site that editorially supports Donald Trump, or Nigel Farage in the UK, or the Vox Party in Spain or Matteo Salvini’s folks in Italy. It’s basically a cross-NATO censorship gargoyle. What they do is they apply these “news ratings” to label the integrity of news, and then run that to their friends in the advertiser networks, and as folks [know] who have been paying attention during the last week, “GARM” is one of those advertiser networks, they do “misinformation auditing” in order to bankrupt and deprive independent news sites of having advertising revenue, so that they can’t be professional news outlets like the New York Times or the Washington Post. Its basically, you can think of it like OPEC, as a kind of, instead of an oil cartel, they’ve basically constructed a news cartel.
[There follows a discussion of the Olympics opening ceremony; Newsguard actually classified complaints about the Olympics opening ceremony as “misinformation” and tracked them, with the goal of attacking sites that carried them.]
The other thing that’s nasty is Newsguard is deeply connected to the EU Digital Services Act and the threat letter against Elon Musk today. Newsguard has a misinformation tracking center for the EU parliamentary elections, they are a signatory to the EU revised code on “disinformation,” and basically act as de facto lobbying for increased European censorship laws. This is a U.S. censorship firm with military intelligence and statecraft high-ranking [U.S.] officials all on its board of advisors. So this is a very nasty group, but it illustrates how this EU threat letter [against Musk and X] is really coming from a cabal, Newsguard and many others, within the United States itself to use international government censorship laws to do the dirty work that’s banned under the U.S. First Amendment.
Sadly, this is not just European overreach. European censorship is supported by dark forces—and dark funding—within the United States. American elites hate freedom of speech (and of religion) as much as European elites.
UPDATE (8/13/24):
It is now clear why the deep state pulled out all the stops to try to prevent the Musk/Trump conversation, including the threatening letter from the EU and the obviously state-sponsored denial of service attack: Almost one billion people listened to at least part of the conversation. Conventional news media has nowhere near that kind of reach, obviously.
The official total of views (or “impressions”) between 7:47 p.m. U.S. Eastern time, when the interview finally got going after the denial of service attack, and 10:47 p.m. Eastern, when the discussion came to a close, was 998 million. {Source} –
“Elon’s interview of former President Trump generated a total of 998 million views on 𝕏 between 7:47 p.m. and 10:47 p.m. ET, according to 𝕏.”
Here’s the replay:
Why do the nations conspire
and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth rise up
and the rulers band together
against the Lord and against his anointed, saying,
“Let us break their chains
and throw off their shackles.”
The One enthroned in heaven laughs;
the Lord scoffs at them.
He rebukes them in his anger
and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,
“I have installed my king
on Zion, my holy mountain.” Psalm 2:1-6
