Norwegian Princess Falls For A Shaman Who Claims To Be Raised SDA

I have lost track of cultural Adventists who have been known to exclaim after potluck “Did you know that (insert devil worshipper, rock musician, Amway salesman, famous loser etc..) was raised Adventist!!?” I have a standard answer for them. “Who cares?”

  • If so, what are they doing with the Advent Message?

  • What have they done with the blood of Jesus Christ? That’s what matters after all.

Your pedigree (and mine) is worth exactly the same as cow manure—according to Paul (Philippians 3:7-8). What does matter is knowing and serving Jesus, and that automatically excludes a lot of evil professions.

If you were raised Adventist, and you grow up to be an enthusiastic money launderer, a gangster, an axe murderer, a famous drug pusher, satanic rock musician, murderer, or even worse, a boisterous Democrat from Houston, it’s probably best that we don’t claim you. If you choose to repent and turn from your evil ways, that’s wonderful—but if you prefer the wages of sin instead, it’s best that we don’t claim you.

However. Sometimes these people claim us; hanging an Adventist ‘heritage’ around their neck like a talisman in interviews or on their Wikipedia pages.

Norway’s Martha Louise

It was recently brought to my attention that Norway's Princess Martha Louise, the oldest child of King Harald and Queen Sonja, believes she has found ‘love’ in Los Angeles. Apparently, she has fallen for an occultist who goes by the name of Shaman Durek. His real name is Durek Verrett.

The Shaman

Durek Verrett calls himself a shaman, which is supposed to be a person who holds the supernatural abilities of invoking, communicating and controlling spirits of dead animals or other otherworldly entities, which are located in a spirit world. It is basically supposed to be real magic.

On his website, Shaman Durek describes himself as “SPIRITUAL GUIDE & GIFTED HEALER.”

“A spiritual guide and gifted healer, Shaman Durek acts as a mediator or ‘bridge’ between the spiritual and physical planes, applies ancient spiritual wisdom, coupled with decades of devoted study and practice, to help bring success, happiness and healing into people’s lives,” the website says.

The website continues, “Shaman Durek is a 6th generation shaman who has devoted decades to study and practice in becoming a thought leader and spiritual enthusiast for people all over the world. His focus is educating people on how to make shamanism a life style choice for evolutionary adaptation. He is an author, activist and a women’s empowerment leader.”

Raised Adventist??

Ok, that’s enough! That’s disturbing. Why is Fulcrum7 showing us this guy’s occult pedigree? Because, this ‘shaman’ (and it is a real shame) also claims to be raised Seventh-day Adventist. Take a look at this interview,

I was born as a Shaman. I am the only son of a family, devoted to the ‘7th day adventist’ traditions, living in Sacramento California. ‘7th day adventists’ (The Seventh-day Adventist Church) is a Protestant Christian denomination distinguished by its observance of the Sabbath, and by its emphasis on the imminent second coming (advent) of Jesus Christ. They celebrate each of the Jewish holidays such as Passover and Yom Kippur except for Hanukkah. We used to go to the Church every Sunday as a Family. [Sunday??!!]

Was everyone in your family a Shaman?

No. My Grandfather on my Father’s side was a Catholic and he was the one who chose The Seventh-day Adventist Church. My mother was raised as a shaman with American roots; was a very wise woman. The Grandmother of my father on his mother’s side, had the prescience that a shaman would be born to our family. He would be able to see her and other souls and would have a birth mark on his body to prove and indicate that he is the One. I was that child. It was clear that I was a Shaman when i was 5 years old. My Mother raised me in full discipline. She knew that I was able to feel stuff and told me not to be bothered by it.

Moral of the Story

The next time someone leans across the table at potluck and says “Did you know that the lead singer of the death metal rock & roll band Gargling With Razorblades was raised Adventist ??” Or “Did you know that the Jesuit Cannibal Liberal Congress-thing in (pick any city) was raised Adventist??” said with a smug burp of self-importance, I have the perfect response for you. Say it with me.

“Who cares!!??”
