According to social media this morning, Bill Knott will not be reappointed as Editor in Chief of the Adventist Review.
One individual on Twitter put it this way:
Other sources indicate that Knott stepped down voluntarily. The whole story will manifest itself eventually.
Knott has been in his editorial position for 15-years. Under his oversight, the subscription rate of the Adventist Review has continued to decline. The magazine has modified the appearance and content of the journal thrice in order to capture the dwindling attention of the Adventist public. Mostly to no avail.
One notable characteristic of content in the Review magazine over the last 17 years was a palpable bias towards women’s ordination. In the last 7-years, there has been a pro social-justice bias in the Review, with articles sympathetic to environmentalism, feminism, and general liberal content. Many examples could be cited.
It is our hope that this leadership change at the Review will bring greater biblical fidelity to its pages, and way less liberalism. Stay tuned.
