Recently we published a letter from a pastor in the Carolina Conference, who outlined his biblical concerns with ‘Love Reality’. We noted that one proponent of ‘Love Reality’ is Justin Khoe, a YouTuber who is popular with the North American Division.
‘Love Reality’ is a ‘Once Saved Always Saved’ variation of salvation that has risen up in Adventism in the last five years. It is attractive to certain SDA youth, offering them a short-circuited religion robbed of responsibility & obedience. We refer to it as Hyper-grace.
At the 2023 Fall Council, Ted Wilson called ‘Love Reality’ a “Dangerous false doctrine that should be avoided.” We believe he is correct.
What we did not know at the time is that one of the directors of this “dangerous false doctrine” is an SDA Conference President — Erik Vandenburgh in Hawaii. This is public information on 501c3 Nonprofit explorer websites, like ProPublica.
President: Jonathan Leonardo
Secretary: Tyler Morrison
Director: Erik Vandenburgh
Observations
‘Love Reality’ became tax-exempt in 2020.
‘Love Reality’ founder Jonathan Leonardo is a pastor in Hawaii at the Kailua Church.
Several credible people in the church have warned about ‘Love Reality’, including the president of the General Conference.
An SDA Conference President is listed as a Director of ‘Love Reality’. We did not know this until Tuesday of this week.
The reason it is called the Love Reality Tour is these individuals (and others) are traveling (touring) around to Adventist Churches trying to convince SDA’s of their ideas.

”Watch out for yourselves and for all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God that he obtained with the blood of his own Son. I know that after I am gone fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock. Even from among your own group men will arise, teaching perversions of the truth to draw the disciples away after them. Therefore be alert, remembering that night and day for three years I did not stop warning each one of you with tears. And now I entrust you to God and to the message of his grace. This message is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified (Acts 20:28-32).
