After a five-month search, Kettering Health (KH) has invited Michael Gentry to lead the next chapter of the organization’s future. He will take the place of the recently departed Fred Manchur.
Michael has experience with health systems across the country. He served as the chief operating officer at Sentara Healthcare, in Norfolk, Virginia. Sentara is the second largest private employer in Virginia with roughly $13 billion in annual revenue.
On two occasions, Michael has been named a Top 25 chief operating officer by Modern Healthcare.
Before joining Sentara, Michael served as the president/CEO for AdventHealth’s Memorial System, located in Ormond Beach, Florida. He obtained a Master of Business Administration from La Sierra University and a Bachelor of Science in business management from Southern Adventist University. Said Michael:
“I am honored to have the opportunity to join Kettering Health, an organization with a long and rich tradition of blending innovative care and Christ-centered compassion to foster health, hope, and healing. As we move forward, I am excited about the chance to collaborate with each of you—the dedicated physicians and team members who work tirelessly to improve care for the people we serve.”
Michael will begin in his role at Kettering Health on July 3, 2023.
