For many years, the Village SDA Church in Berrien Springs, MI has hosted a religious liberty weekend in January.
During this special weekend, speakers have addressed such important topics as cultural marxism, social justice, and the human rights abuses of the C19 nanny state. Adventists from around the world have been stirred by these meetings which offer a much more comprehensive look at the challenges facing us, challenges that the GC PARL department is not addressing, enamored as they are with the W.H.O., and the United Nations and general ecumenism.
Due to his expansive worldview and global awareness Conrad Vine has organized this meeting for many years, also filling in as one of the main speakers. Then the axe just fell.
On Thursday of last week, Jim Micheff sent a letter to the Village Church interim pastor Tariq Patel, requesting that he cancel the upcoming Village Church Religious Liberty weekend on January 10-11. This demand was accompanied by two Church Manual quotes. Micheff’s letter:
Observations
The interim pastor (Tariq Patel) met with the elders and pastors to discuss the edict from the Conference. Patel decided to grant Micheff’s request to cancel the RL meeting in spite of unanimous opposition from the elders present.
Rather than get angry about this edict, I see this as a very good thing. The conference has exposed their autocratic spirit
The meeting will still be held at a local school, details to be announced. It will be streamed live.
Conrad Vine will be speaking for the main service.
Dr. Peter McCollough was invited to be a speaker and he has accepted.
I’m sure the extreme irony of the situation is not lost on you.
MISDA is trying to extinguish the light coming from the Village Church, while claiming to occupy the high moral ground. There have been two dominant narratives in the past ten years: Cultural Marxism and COVID. Village Church has rejected and exposed both of these narratives, as a healthy Bible-based church should. It is evident that the SDA hierarchy is targeting Village Church for daring to speak out against these un-biblical aberrations.
You can share your thoughts and concerns with pastor Patel at tariq@andrews.edu. We are sure he will appreciate any feedback received.
