PORTLAND—On April 18, the Oregon Executive Committee, decided to cancel the 2024 Spanish and English camp meetings. This is due to the financial problems of the Oregon Conference. LINK
The Conference is considering encouraging various churches to host regional campmeetings. This is the same thing that the Ohio Conference did under the lost decade of the Attiken presidency. The Ohio Conference also experienced significant financial problems during that period.
The Oregon Conference has been in financial dire straits for the last 20-months and is struggling to make ends meet. This led them to terminate 25 pastoral positions this year.
If you have questions about why the decision was made to not hold camp meeting this year, please reach out to juan.pacheco@oc.npuc.org.
