Last Fall, the 2018 Annual Council voted into place measures to bring discipline to various Church entities that are rebelling against voted General Conference Session decisions. These measures became known as the Compliance Document.
You may recall, back in early September, a progressive Adventist website stated that the Compliance Committees had been dissolved by ADCOM. The implication was that there would be no discipline forthcoming for non-compliant Church entities that have troubled the Church by ordaining women in opposition to Seventh-day Adventist Session decisions.
This was fake news then, and it is fake new now.
What is being recommended for action on Tuesday of Autumn Council is the following items.
Discipline
1) That these entities be formally Warned as provided for in the 2018 Annual Council voted Document:
Danish Union
North German Union
Norwegian Union
Swedish Union
2) That the Presidents of these non-compliant entities be given a Public Reprimand as provided for in the 2018 Annual Council voted Document:
The Columbia Union
The Pacific Union
Document
Stay tuned tomorrow. We will be providing live updates on this issue, and the issue of giving Annual Council voice to Conference Presidents that reside in the Division where the AC meeting is held (which is North America for the foreseeable future).
