Proper Bible study takes time. It requires a willing, honest heart, prayer and diligence (Isaiah 28:10; 2 Timothy 2:15), and most of all, a gift of the Holy Spirit.
Instead of going into the Bible to see what it actually is teaching, the rigors of such study can be avoided by simply taking a Martin King comment out of context.
It’s quicker. And easier. And certainly more trendy.
Instead of making young Adventists wise, capable Bible students—equipped to share the Three Angels’ Messages with a dying world, WAU and Takoma Park Church can help make them into social justice warriors. And most importantly, into democrat voters.
THIS is our mission? This?
God called a remnant out of Babylon (confusion) only to bring them back into political confusion?
God gave the Remnant Movement special messages so they could corrupt their children into social justice warriors?
God gave us a blueprint for education so we could use it to indoctrinate our youth?
Please explain why it is right to try to make Adventist youth into social justice warriors. Would it be right to use these institutions to create republican voters?
It would be wrong on both counts.
God gave the world His Sabbath as a sign of mutual belonging, and codified it into His Ten Commandments, so we could have political social justice marches on His sacred Day?
This social justice political event is organized by:
Adventists for Social Justice (ASJ)
Takoma Park SDA Church
Washington Adventist University
This is a similar focus to an event (Jesus & Politics) that was hosted at Andrews University in October, 2019. The event was organized by Nicholas Miller, according to this post by James Standish.
It was keynoted by well-known social justice advisor to Barak Obama, and founder of Sojurners, James Wallis. Wallis is a non-Adventist, ideologically united to most of the aforementioned individuals & institutions. A comment made at that meeting brought national scrutiny and reproach on our Church. With social justice, a monster has come into Adventism.
This is a different gospel than the one we are called to proclaim—the Everlasting Gospel. It is a distraction, offered by those who are already distracted.
There is something worse than silence while the lost of this world run towards Christless graves, it is preaching a different gospel than the one given to us by God (Revelation 14:6). For this reason we must shun the false gospel of social justice and contemporary Adventism. It is a watered-down politically-motivated imposter that offers people a form of godliness while denying its power.

“I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel” (Galatians 1:6).
