This hymn-prayer was written to support efforts to counter climate change, including at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, Scotland. #COP26.
It was written by Carolyn Winfrey Gillette, a holy minstrel of the hyper-woke Presbyterian Church. Gillette is (it goes without saying) a gay-affirming pastorette in Philadelphia.
The old left had borrowed social justice from religion, while discarding everything but the moral imperative. The new woke left combines it with the grandiose spectacle of apocalypses while replacing the deity with the oblation of self-denial as a coerced vehicle of climate change mitigation. What the left has created in the political cult of climate change is an irreligious religion with a moral imperative encompassing every aspect of life.

What began as a movement for the responsible stewardship of the earth has been corrupted from the ethical to the fanatical. Conservationism kept humanity in the picture. The political cult of environmentalism rages at humanity. Behind its robotic young priestess (Thunberg) and its dolphin key chains is the vision of a world in which humanity and its fire sticks are the original sin, and global climate action is its counterfeit Calvary.
Religion is declining sharply and the political cult of Climate Change offers a cataclysmically redemptive purpose with visions of rising oceans, growing poverty, inescapable racism, and a catastrophic way out that requires not faith, but action.
Climate Change is the new orthodoxy of the global elites, gathering in Scotland on November 1 to worship their god at the sacred assembly of COP26. 30,000 Attendees will beseech their hybrid deity (a mixture of Gaia and Baal) to fill the tabernacle of the SEC Centre in Glasgow with her divine (green) fire.
Notable attendees will be US President Joe Biden, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, climate activist Greta Thunberg, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, among thousands of other climate corybantics.
The Pope will send the Secretary of State of his ‘Holiness’ Cardinal Pietro Parolin, who will read a message from the Pope to attendees, if the Pope does not do so by videolink.
Originally due to be held in November 2020 at the same venue, the event was postponed for twelve months because of the COVID-19 pandemic in Scotland. Perhaps the wait will be worth it; the worshippers now have a new hymn to sing.
