New students at Walla Walla are required to watch an hour of orientation videos called Voices for Change from Get Inclusive.com. The video deals with alcohol consumption, sexual assault, mental health, and gender identity and inclusion.
The gender identity portion says that while many people believe there are only two genders, other cultures (western) believe that there are over twenty genders. Click on the clip below,
The video says,
“The idea that there are only two genders is reinforced by bathroom labeling, census categories, baby gender reveal parties, and much more. Generally, these social constructs come from age old systems that create power dynamics, based on someone’s membership in a social identity group. However, just because they are a social construct doesn’t mean that people’s experiences of privilege and oppression are any less real.”
Can students opt out of this orientation? Apparently they cannot:
Commentary
This is pure woke nonsense.
People believe there are two genders because they have eyes and can see reality.
The Bible is plain that God created only two genders and He bid them to “Be fruitful and multiply” (Genesis 5:2; 1:28). Gender is not a social construct, it is an objective reality.
This multiple gender ideology comes from cultural Marxism and is marketed to academic institutions under the guise of diversity, inclusion and equity. For them, the only reality is oppression, not the obvious reality of male and female. But we know better (1 John 2:15; Genesis 5:2).
[UPDATE]
The JumpStart coordinator is this individual:
This same person came out as homosexual in June, 2020, and is still employed by the University,
From the Walla Walla website,
JumpStart
JumpStart is a week long freshman orientation designed to help first-time freshmen transition from high school to the privileges and responsibilities of being a student at Walla Walla University. This week of orientation gives you the opportunity to settle into the dorm before classes begin, learn your way around campus, meet your advisor, get help finishing registration tasks, get to know your classmates, and learn from courses specifically designed to help you succeed in college.
From the Student Handbook
We believe that sexual relationships are to be expressed in the context of a committed marriage between a man and a woman (Genesis 2:23-25; Matt. 19:4-6; Eph. 5:31). Walla Walla University reflects this conviction through its policies and expects faculty, staff, and students to honor this conviction in their behavior.
According to the Handbook, faculty are expected to honor the biblical teaching on sexuality. Why then is the JumpStart coordinator still in position after openly announcing that he is gay?
And why is Coming Out Ministries not welcome on Walla Walla Campus?
Fulcrum7 reached out to Walla Walla to learn if they knew about the homosexual identity of this individual. We also asked if Walla Walla is in harmony with the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s beliefs on biblical sexuality. We have not heard back from them yet.
