The NAD’s Twitter page announced yesterday that the NAD Executive Committee voted (on Aug. 18) to recommend the name of Kyoshin Ahn for the position of executive secretary. Ahn’s name was presented to the committee by the standing nominating committee, which met on Aug. 17. LINK: http://ow.ly/jz4I50B2I9H
Progressives are hailing the selection as a good one.
Biblically-minded conservatives point out that Ahn is the one who articulated the NAD position on hermeneutics that was published in their TOSC report. All indications are that Ahn will stay the (rebellious) course on women’s ordination, or more likely—expand it. We will observe any further NAD defiance of the GC Session decisions and report on it.
For now, it is the opinion of a majority in the Seventh-day Adventist Church that the GC Excom needs to increase the consequences that were imposed on the Columbia and Pacific Unions at recent Annual Council Meetings.
Be blessed!
