Imagine a church where ADCOM did something that would help the worldwide Seventh-day Adventist Church instead of making problematic statements aligned with the culture. That would be great.
Here’s an idea:
We the members of the ADCOM Committee declare that ordaining women is both unbiblical and disruptive to the organizational structure of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
As Ellen White said “The Scriptures are plain upon the relations and rights of men and women” (1 T 421.4). The Bible is clear that leadership in the Church is restricted to Godly men, the husband of one wife (1 Timothy 3:2; 3:12). Our sisters are given the special role of wives and mothers, wearing the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight (1 Peter 3:4).
Along with Scripture and the SOP we condemn passive Eli’s in the church who shirk their God-given responsibility; we condemn restless Eve’s who seek positions that the Bible precludes.
We condemn Unions and Conferences that defy three General Conference Session decisions to not allow the ordination of women as pastors. These rebellious ordinations are aligned with witchcraft in the Bible (1 Samuel 15:23) and wound the collective spirit of the Seventh-day Adventist body around the world.
We further recommend that these Unions be disbanded and reformulated with a new balance of leadership, as an example to the flock (1 Timothy 5:20).
Signed:
ADCOM
Such a statement would help the church deal with a pandemic of rebellion in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Like this rebellious ordination that occurred at the Azure Hills Seventh-day Adventist Church five days ago:
Go do the right thing.
And, thanks.
